When the Winter Olympics start next week they’ll be thousands of people from all over the world converging on the Canadian city of Vancouver. But only one (that we know of) will be arriving with extensive Delanco Camp experience.

Carlton Bodine III, who cut his teeth as an audio engineer running the soundboard out at camp, is heading to Vancouver to join more than 40 other Asbury College students, staff and alums working on the Olympics broadcast team. Carlton’s call came at the last minute for an audio job at the downhill skiing, as he describes in his blog.

“So I was sitting in my room with my good friend Kenton watching a movie. All of the sudden my room phone rang, which is very rare since not many have room phones anymore. I decided to answer it to which I hear, ‘Hi Carlton, this is Jim Owens’ I instantly knew what he was calling for. He went on to say, ‘I have a job for you, can you be here by Sunday night.’ So I called my parents and booked my flight and now leave Sunday morning at 6 a.m. eastern time.”

For more on what Carlton and his classmates will be up to, there’s a story on the Asbury Website HERE.
