April 7 Update
CJ has an update of his own. Click HERE to read it.

Update XXXIX (March 11)
From CJ’s Facebook status: “CJ Caufield ’s body is recovering nicely. We have come a long way from a coma, ventilator, collapsed lung, pneumonia, infections, and fever. God is good all the time. Friends, near and far, have been very gracious to keep us on their prayer lists! Look out for April 8, NJ.”

Update XXXVII (March 10)
CJ surprised us all at the Delanco Dinner on Saturday night at Richwood UMC when he called on the phone and talked to us via amplified cell phone. What a blessing it was to hear from him at this special occasion. It made the night even more special. He asked that we all continue to keep he and Carrie in prayer. Speaking of prayer, Rich Dugan has started up an e-mail prayer chain for the camp. E-mail prayers@delanco.org to be added.

Update XXVI (March 4)
CJ has a discharge date of April 8, which means he’ll be coming home to New Jersey in a little over a month. Praise God for how He has moved in CJ’s life. Don’t forget about the March 13 benefit. Click the link above for more info.

Update XXV (Feb. 18)
A friend of the camp recently had a chance to do a brief interview with CJ and was kind enough to e-mail it to us.

How are you doing spiritually and physically?

CJ: Spiritually, there are peaks and valleys. It is difficult at times and other times, there seem to be significant uplifts.

Is there anything we can do from here?

CJ: You can pray fervently if you would. And spread the word for prayer as well. Please pray for Carrie and my family as well. God knows they are troupers and need it.

What kind of recovery are they expecting you to have eventually? Time frame?

CJ: They are expecting 100 percent recovery over the next couple months. This could be lengthened somewhat, but is not expected to be substantially.

Anything else to add?

CJ: Thanks for keeping us in your hearts and prayers.

Update XXIV (Feb. 17)
This popped up recently on CJ’s LinkedIn account. While CJ’s online time is still very limited, it’s a good sign of his recovery that he’s able to use his sense of humor to communicate where he’s at.

Update XXIII (Feb. 11)

CJ’s recovery is going really well. He has his trach out and the casts are off. Check out the new picture Linda Dugan sent us. Praise God for how he’s healing CJ’s body. Keep praying for him as he goes through rehab at the Shepherd Center. Word has it it’s incredibly intense.

Now men and women from Delanco, so many fond memories and so much laughter, keep your terrific sense of humor, it will help you thru this. The power of prayer is amazing, I have been depending on it a lot lately too. Look forward to hearing updates of your great progress, Take care, Love you., Mary Ellen Watkins.

  4. CJ both you and my husband Chet are doing so well. God is blessing us all. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you, Carrie and your Mom Emma. I think Shepherd Center is the best.
