Tenth Avenue North are joining other popular Christian artists (like Lecrae, Newsboys, Hawk Nelson, etc.) in partnering with The Overflow and YouVersion (the Bible app) on a new devotion series. Below, longtime camp friend Mike D. talks about the new devotion and the part he wrote that tie in with songs from Tenth Avenue North’s new album The Struggle.

Back in 2005, Audrey Assad was a 22-year-old newcomer on the music scene who was introduced to us at camp by Tenth Avenue North. Today, she is a well-known recording artist who is on tour with Tenth Avenue North and Rend Collective Experiment (they are stopping in Washington Township on Sept. 13).

Rachel Rogers had us reminiscing about Audrey when she posted this photo on her Twitter earlier this week so we thought it would be appropriate to share it as a Throwback Thursday post. Thanks, Rachel!

It started out as a discussion on Facebook between Kevin Wolf, Carlton Bodine III and CJ Caufield about the NBC comedy Community‘s take on police procedural drama Law & Order back in April and how funny it would be to do a parody of the parody out at camp in the summer.

When Teen Camp rolled around, it was all about execution as the trio set about making the video a reality with a cast that included Spencer Barber, Tony Jones, CJ, Colleen McCullough, Josh Ott, Emily Collier, Caitlin Coffee and a team of extras.

No pretzel roll sandwiches were harmed in the making of this video.

The 2012 Friday night talent show at Middler Camp featured some very talented middler aged campers and staff members. You’ll see a lot of singing, dancing and unusual talents in this very varied act.

August was a huge month for us in terms of searches. The 2,132 searches for the month marked the first time we cracked the 2,000 mark and the most ever in one month since we started in 2009.

Since we didn’t bring in any revenue for GoodShopping or GoodDining, our total for the month was $21.32. This brings our total for 2012 to $235.32.

Goal for September: surpass 1,500 searches again and add GoodDiners. Good Dining is really simple. All you do is create an account and add your credit card and when you use that card at participating restaurants the camp automatically gets a donation.

For the past five years, I’ve been privileged to serve for a week at this incredible camp. In the past, I’ve been responsible for the crafts of the week and facilitating a small group each evening. This year, I stepped into a teaching support role and due to a change in the structure of small groups, I was able to teach at a different small group each evening.

Every camper has their own God story about Delanco Camp and the transforming work that He has done through/in them there. I am not exempt from that honor! From year one, God has been doing a work in me. As I look back over my time there, I can see how God has been and continues to weave His handiwork throughout my experience there and personally in my every day life!

This is the path that I walked every day while at camp, several times a day, from the camping area to the general camp area. It’s a quiet time of reflection and preparation. In the mornings as I came out on the other end of this path, I was greeted with a very quiet camp, as the campers found places to sit and soak in God’s word with their morning devos. This is something I’ve enjoyed every year! So peaceful and beautiful…a gift, to be sure.

Congregational Worship….what more can I say….a glimpse of Heaven!!

At Space Camp you don’t play simple night games. Eventually campers will be running around, screaming and laughing just like at any other camp or any other night but it’s the introduction and the presentation that really made the night games at Space Camp reach a whole new level. Here is the well-planned staff of Junior High 1 delighting and entertaining the campers with the introduction to the Star Wars night game.
