The theme at Junior Camp this year is Passport to Paradise. Does this mean you are going to be wearing Hawaiian shirts all week like Rick Warren?

It’s a good possibility, although I hear that Rick may have copyrighted the look in “The Purpose Driven Shirt”

What are you going to speaking about in your messages?

That in Jesus’ Great Commission from Matthew 28 we are all called to “make disciples of all nations,” and in Acts 1 to be Christ’s witnesses “to the ends of the Earth.” For some, the calling may be to become a missionary; for others, our mission field may be our own school or town. And while in different places there may be different languages and customs, we all serve the same Christ.

Where is paradise (on earth) for you located? Any place with a palm tree and a beach.

What are you most looking forward to being out at camp this year? Reconnecting with friends and campers; and pretzel-roll sandwich day.

What are you most looking forward to this summer? Pretzel sandwiches.
Share with us your elevator testimony. I don’t really have a big conversion story or anything. I grew up in the church. Over the years I’ve had moments when I doubt my own self worth and knowing Christ has helped to teach me my personal worth. I know that I am beautifully and wonderfully made by a Creator who cares for me.
If you were asked to choose an actor or actress to portray you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why? Me. I’d do it myself. Or maybe Levar Burton from Star Trek/Reading Rainbow just because he’s awesome. Wait, no! Matt Smith because he’s insane enough.
If you needed to choose a food that you would live on for the rest of your life, what would it be? Buffalo chicken, as long as I have access to blue cheese. I assume sauce is a given in this whole thing.

What made you want to be on staff this summer? Wait, I had a choice?? No really, because there’s no place like Delanco Camp!!
What are you most looking forward to this summer? I am looking forward to seeing God work through the volunteers and witnessing lives being touched.
Share with us your elevator testimony. I was born and raised in a family who attended church regularly but never really felt God’s awesomeness until I attended Creation Fest with my friends in 1985. I have been lucky enough to be able to return several times since then (and to see my daughters experience it) and it never ceases to bring me closer to our Creator!
If you were asked to choose an actor or actress to portray you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why? Sandra Bullock because she is an awesome comedic actress and let’s face it, life is pretty funny.
If you needed to choose a food that you would live on for the rest of your life, what would it be? This is an unfair question to ask the head cook…one who loves to eat.  Um, pizza and cheese fries?
If you were told you could do one thing and you absolutely would not fail in doing it, what would you do? I would help Delanco Camp and others close to me so that money was never an issue.

What are you most looking forward to this summer? I am most looking forward to the fellowship with the other staffers and the campers.

Share with us your elevator testimony.
I have attended Bethesda United Methodist Church with my family since I was born. I accepted Christ as my savior in eighth grade at a youth group retreat. Since that moment, my life has completely turned around. I participated in youth group throughout high school. I was able to do several service trips through my youth group. I went through a rough spot during my senior year of high school when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. She reminded me that I need to keep trusting that God will let His will be done. Soon after, my mom was declared cancer-free! Since that event, I have grown so close to the Lord. I worked at Delanco that summer which connected me with so many Christian supporters. At college, I found a good group of Christian friends. I just returned from Uganda where I spent a month working in a school with World Gospel Mission. I am so excited to follow God wherever He is calling, which right now is Delanco Camp!

If you were asked to choose an actor or actress to portray you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why? I would choose Reese Witherspoon because she is always so excited, which describes me completely.

If you needed to choose a food that you would live on for the rest of your life, what would it be? Bacon, hands down.

If you were told you could do one thing and you absolutely would not fail in doing it, what would you do? Save the world! Wonder Woman style.

Share with us your elevator testimony. I discovered the love of God at Delanco Camp. He helps me live a loving life. If it wasn’t for Him, I would not be at Delanco as a lifeguard.
If you were asked to choose an actor or actress to portray you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why? Tom Hanks, because he is cool, calm and funny
If you needed to choose a food that you would live on for the rest of you life, what would it be? Tacos

Summer Staff Profile: Caitlin Pettit

Name: Caitlin Pettit
Nickname: 57, Caitip, occasionally Cait, but typically only in written and not verbally. I know, it’s weird
Job: Lifeguard
Age: 25
School attending/last attended: TESC
Years on summer staff: This makes year 4.
Years attending Delanco Camp: This makes year 16.
Home church: Calvary Chapel Vineland
Favorite Bible verse: I have many and am having trouble narrowing it down to just one. Therefore I encourage you to find me at some point this summer. I will share a few more of my favorite verses and you can share some of your favorites with me. I am going to cheat and share three that I feel go together nicely. They are 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 and Philippians 4:8
Favorite cereal: I have two, Reese’s Puffs and Strawberry Frosted Mini Wheats.

What made you want to be on staff this summer? I heard that they were looking for a lifeguard and I looked back fondly on the time I had previously spent serving camp for the summer and felt like it was the place to be again this summer.

What are you most looking forward to this summer? Seeing how God is going to work in me, through me, and around me.

Share with us your elevator testimony. I was raised in a church attending family. Church was what you did on Sundays and during any children’s program they had so that you could be a good kid, or so I thought. When I was 9 and first attending Delanco I understood, in part, for the first time what it meant to be a Christian and I accepted Jesus as Savior and have been walking with Him ever since. Along the way I have done some growing and have learned many lessons. Find me this summer and ask me about them.

If you were asked to choose an actor or actress to portray you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why? I honestly do not pay attention to actors and actresses. So I have asked a friend of mine to help me out with this one. This is their answer. I guess I’d have to go with Selma Blair. She’s short and has dark hair, and she often plays kind of a tough woman.

If you needed to choose a food that you would live on for the rest of your life, what would it be? Chicken. If I have to pick a way that it’s prepared I would go with patty form.

If you were told you could do one thing and you absolutely would not fail in doing it, what would you do? This is a good question. I guess it would be to write my own Christian preschool curriculum and implement it in my very own preschool center.

Using the letters of your name, make an acrostic that describes you:
Caring, always willing to help
Always Striving
Intelligent
Trustworthy
Loved by an awesome God
Interesting, very interesting
